CONSULTANCY
We offer a broad range of consultancy services based around IT infrastructure, including data centre planning, due diligence of an organisation’s trading floor infrastructure, assessment of voice and critical systems, as well as strategic planning for capacity expansion and business continuity.

"In the IT world, we’re the guys with the deep knowledge behind how everything works," says Gregory Borrows, Head of Consultancy.

IT infrastructure is a blanket term for all IT related equipment, including but not limited to servers, hubs, routers, switches, personal computers, voice systems, structured cabling systems, network and communication lines, wireless infrastructure and multi-function devices such as office printers and faxes.

Our consultancy package typically starts with a scoping and due diligence  exercise to ascertain whether your existing infrastructure can adequately meet your requirements now and in the future within, for example, a leased off-site data centre facility, housing 300 server racks over a ten-year period, can adequately meet your requirements now and in the future.

Once you, the client, has approved the strategy for a data centre expansion, relocation or completely new fit-out, our consultants will put together a proposal for implementing the plan. Our teams from the Technical Support Services, IMAC and Resourcing divisions will then be on hand to execute the plans.

Data centre planning and consideration involves the assessment of existing infrastructure within the facility along with server rack elevations, power and cooling considerations, carrier resiliency/diversity into the data centre, longevity of the facility, capacity planning to allow for growth, and can even go as far as seismic assessment and planning to preserve the integrity of server racks in the event of an earthquake in the region.

Due diligence of an organisation’s trading floor infrastructure produces an assessment of the existing infrastructure of the trading desk environment, including the high end computer and voice trading systems (traditional or VoIP), power and cooling systems to cope with the load, along with space management for additional monitors and other equipment required for the trader’s day-to-day activities.
