Regional IT Director

Job Description

Our client, a Global Legal Firm, is seeking a Regional IT Director to join their team in Hong Kong. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate.

 

Responsibilities:

 

·         Meet internal and external customer requirements through effective planning and management of all IT functions and activities across the region.

·         Ensure all regional IT expenditure, including all cost centres and local office IT budgets are not exceeded in any given financial year.

·         Develop relationships with technology professionals in peer firms from which the exchange of information, ideas and best practices can be cultivated.

·         Provide leadership and guidance to subordinate managers and / or supervisors in the planning, designing, development and implementation of technology projects.

·         Coach and mentor IT team members at all levels, providing an understanding of business ethos and need to align with the business.

·         Regular review and sign off of purchase requests in line with approved budgets, ensuring proper accounting practices are adhered to.

·         Responsible for the delivery of value to the business by looking for savings in IT expenditure throughout each financial year.

·         Responsible for collaboration with peers and colleagues to enhance IT services, increase utilization, improve processes, eliminate non value added tasks, and streamline delivery.

·         Responsible for providing management oversight of Information Technology staff within the region including hiring, mentoring, performance evaluations, salary reviews, disciplinary and discharge.

·         Maintain new technology solutions and implementations will meet business and system requirements.

·         Responsible for directing and prioritizing departmental workload as appropriate.

·         Present proposals for technology equipment/services/risk prevention that support the firm's strategic direction, short and/or long range initiatives and priorities.

·         Facilitate strategic partnerships between the IT function and various groups within the firm to ensure quality, consistency and service delivery across the firm.

 

 

Requirements:

 

·         At least 10 years of experience in a hands-on IT environment with 5 years of experience in a Senior position within the legal industry or other professional services, preferably within a partnership.

·         Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage a regional or global team operating across differing time zones.

·         Demonstrated organisational skills, including time management and effective prioritization and decision making.

·         Demonstrated experience in implementing effective, innovative and cost effective solutions.

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

·         Experience developing policies, procedures, and documentation governing best practices for operating an effective IT function.

·         Proven change management skills and experience.

·         Strong oral and written communications skills.

·         The ability to inspire and lead a large IT team, acting as a role model with respect to self-improvement, career development and a strong work ethic.

·         The ability to mentor and guide staff in building a culture of continuous improvement.
